Meet the Team at Emory at Peachtree City – Primary Care! Emory at Peachtree City is located at 3000 Shakerag Hill Peachtree City. We’re excited to share our Q&A with the local Emory Team to learn more about their service providers and the services they offer for our community.

Q&A

How many providers work at Emory at Peachtree City and what are their backgrounds and specialties?

We have a total of four providers and by February 2024, we will have five.

Below are a few of our providers available to patients at our Peachtree City office.

Christopher Velez-Reyes, MD is a family medicine physician with Emory at Peachtree City – Primary Care. He was drawn to the specialty after watching his grandfather’s health struggles in his native Puerto Rico. Determined to better understand what might have prevented those health issues and what could have been done to help his grandfather have a better quality of life, he made medicine a career. Today, Dr. Velez-Reyes provides preventive care and screenings and works to enhance quality of life for all his patients and their families. He enjoys caring for the whole person and tending to each patients’ health needs. As a family medicine physician, Dr. Velez-Reyes treats patients ages five and up. He enjoys caring for entire families and building lasting relationship.

Poorvi Pfenning, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician. Dr. Pfenning chose to specialize in family medicine because she is passionate about approaching patients’ primary care needs through a “whole person” lens. She then chose to complete her residency in family medicine at the University of Colorado so she could obtain the broadest primary care skill set possible. Dr. Pfenning takes pride in her treatment of a wide variety of women’s health concerns, mental health/psychiatric conditions, dermatologic needs and nutrition/wellness concerns. She is also adept at chronic illness diagnosis and management. Dr. Pfenning is a first-generation immigrant from India and grew up in Augusta, GA. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, and relaxing outdoors with her husband, daughter and goldendoodle.

Beth Finley, NP is a family nurse practitioner at Emory at Peachtree City – Primary Care. Beth is originally from Minnesota and graduated from Minnesota State with herMaster’s in nursing through University of Cincinnati. Shemoved here about 18 years ago with her husband, Anthony. Beth has three kids, ages 11, 13 and 15. She has worked for Emory at Peachtree City for the past eight years as a nurse practitioner and loves being able to also serve the community at the Healing Bridge when she can. In her free,time you will find her out in her garden or with her family.

Our Clinical team:

April is our medical assistant to Tamara Lewis, MD.

Karen is our medical assistant to Poorvi Pfenning, MD.

Alisa is our medical assistant to Beth Finley, NP.

Makesah is our newest Emory at Peachtree City medical assistant, assisting Christopher Velez-Reyes, MD.

Chenedra, LPN administers injections and you likely will speak with her on the phone or via MyChart messages.

Jamilka is our phlebotomist.
