I had the opportunity to talk with Jennifer Cannell, Practice Administrator, at Advanced Aesthetics to learn more about their Plastic Surgery Centers including what services they offer and what procedures their Surgeons specialize in. Hi Jennifer, tell us about Advanced Aesthetics. When did the center open? We have been in business for over 25 years. We offer Plastic Surgery services as well as some non-invasive procedures such as Facetite, Bodytite and Morpheous 8. Advanced Aesthetics has been changing lives through plastic surgery in south Atlanta and the surrounding areas for over 25 years. Our professional staff is here to make you feel comfortable throughout your visit. The team of board certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Edward Gronka, Dr. Joseph Raniere, and Dr. Joel Stewart, care deeply about you and your transformation. We are passionate about helping our patients improve their outer appearance because we know the powerful impact that happens within.
Where are ya’ll located? Our offices are conveniently located in Fayetteville, Newnan, and LaGrange, but we serve patients throughout Metro Atlanta.
We would love to meet the Surgeons behind Advanced Aesthetics. What are their specialties? Our surgeons have over 45 years of combined experience working with individuals who wish to refine their bodies. Our Surgeons are all Board Certified and our Surgery Center has a AAAASC Certification.
Meet Dr. Gronka
Dr. Gronka is expertly trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery. His interests in plastic surgery include cosmetic improvement of the breast, face, and body including the abdomen, hips, and thighs. He is also an expert in reconstructive surgery of the breast and body. The surgeries he frequently performs are breast augmentation and reduction, liposuction, abdominoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery, and breast reconstruction following mastectomy. Many of Dr. Gronka’s patients praise him as being thoroughly knowledgeable about his work and communicating in a way that is kind and empathetic. He is known for exceeding his patients’ expectations and being as resourceful as possible when performing surgery. As a result of training completed in 2013, Dr. Gronka is now certified to use Mentor MemoryShape Breast Implants, which are gel implants that combine both shape and feel to provide natural-looking and long-lasting results in patients. Mentor is the world leader in breast aesthetics, and their new MemoryShape implant has a high satisfaction rate and a proven safety record.
Dr. Gronka performs most of his cosmetic surgery at the Advanced Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Center. He also has privileges at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Like Dr. Dr. Joseph Raniere, he is an active member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).Dr. Gronka is married and has two children. His personal interests include golf, music, and cooking. He enjoys traveling all over the world to enjoy these pastimes.
Meet Dr. Raniere
Dr. Raniere is expertly trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery, with special interests in abdominoplasty, body contouring, liposuction, body lifts, and facial cosmetic surgery, including rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, and facelifts. He is the inventor of the Quick Guard™ device used in breast reconstruction and has utilized his artistic vision to develop the “infinity umbilicoplasty,” used to create a natural-appearing belly button in abdominoplasty surgery. Dr. Raniere also has interest in cosmetic breast surgery, including breast augmentation, reduction, and mastopexy (breast lift), as well as breast reconstruction following mastectomy, and facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal. He has published several scientific articles on various topics in plastic surgery, including rhinoplasty, liposuction, breast augmentation, and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
Dr. Raniere has privileges at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, where he is Chief of Plastic Surgery for over 15 years, as well as Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Southern Regional Medical Center, Piedmont Henry Hospital. Dr. Raniere takes great pride in providing the highest quality of personalized care to each individual’s needs. “My personal practice philosophy is to give my patients my undivided attention, listen to their specific needs and goals, and then perform surgically to the best of my ability to achieve a natural result.”
Dr. Raniere resides in Peachtree City, and his favorite pastimes include spending time with his wife and two daughters, listening to music, and fishing/boating. He can also be found some weekends around town playing guitar for a local band, “Gravity.”
Meet Dr. Stewart
Dr. Stewart enjoys all aspects of plastics surgery. His primary areas of interest are in eyelid and brow rejuvenation, as well as in rhinoplasty. In addition to traditional facial plastic surgery techniques, he is a proponent of less invasive techniques such as short scar surgery, fillers, BOTOX®, laser resurfacing, and chemical peels. He also enjoys doing breast enhancement and body contouring, such as liposuctionand tummy tucks.
Dr. Stewart’s main drive to enter the field of plastic surgery was to help those suffering from the disfigurement of breast cancer surgery. He has training in all areas of breast reconstruction and employs many techniques that use a patient’s own tissues, with and without implants, to achieve the reconstruction.Other areas of interest pertaining to reconstructive surgery are breast reduction, hand surgery, and reconstruction of defects after cancer removal.
“My practice is to spend a sufficient amount of time with my patients so that they can get a feel for me and so that I can answer any questions that they might have. Then, together, we will make a plan that both the patient and I am happy about.” –Dr. Stewart.
Dr. Stewart will practice primarily in our Newnan and LaGrange locations. When not caring for patients, Dr. Stewart enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. He enjoys most outdoor activities and especially enjoys SEC football in the fall. He also has been known to play guitar from time to time, much to the dismay of his family. He lives in LaGrange, where his wife also practices.
