Q&A

Hi Megan, what is your background? Tell us about your career.

In high school, I decided I wanted to be a Graphic Designer and that was my original major in college. Yet, somewhere along the way I ended up switching to Early Childhood Education. I graduated from UGA with that degree with an added Birth-5 and Special Education emphasis. I taught Kindergarten until my first son was born. I never lost sight of my love for graphic design and was always still dabbling in it. I’m the happiest when I’m doing something that allows me to be creative!

What called you to become an Influencer?

I decided to start a blog in 2020 when we were stuck at home during quarantine. I went back and forth about just going for it for quite a while, but that was the first time that I actually had the time to put it all together. The thing that really pushed me was my love for taking photos… that’s what made me start considering it. My blog contains mostly travel posts while my instagram features more daily life and style posts.

What is the best thing about your job?

It lets me be myself. I get to be creative and have fun and  that brings me joy!

What is your best “working mom” tip?

Find the balance! When I first started my blog I had to jump in full force and ultimately it was taking time away from my Mom/wife responsibilities. I had to remind myself that my family and home came first. Now, I have a schedule worked out to make sure I’m not doing many blog-related things after my kids come home from school.

What is your favorite “mom hack”?

I get both of my boy’s clothes ready for the week on Sunday and put them in drawers labeled with each day of the week so that we don’t have to worry about that each morning! And we also keep toothbrushes in a kitchen drawer by the sink so they don’t have to leave the room after breakfast.

What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas?

My absolute favorite part about living back in the area is the community here. I love running into people I know just about everywhere I go. I love our local shops and restaurants. I love the gym I attend and the friends I’ve made there. And of course, the golf carts.

What TV show are you loving right now? Book? Movie? Podcast?

I love to watch the same things on repeat, and those are usually things that make me laugh. I watch Friends every night before bed. I’ve recently gotten into listening to podcasts and I’m currently obsessed with The Morning After by Kelly Stafford and Drama Queens (by the women from One Tree Hill).

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms?

Find out what truly makes you happy and make time for it! Don’t be afraid to find a babysitter and have date nights and/or girl’s nights with your friends. Take your kids on adventures – whether it’s just a fun golf cart ride to the park or spending a day in Atlanta. Celebrate everything!
