Learn how Jodie turned her passion for fitness into a career and who inspired her, in our Q&A below.
What is your background? Tell us about your career.
My world has always been Fitness! As a young adult, I got into running with AAU track that then developed into a cross-country career, that led me to Mississippi State. I received my degree in Kinesiology while running Track and Field and Cross Country for them.
I post college I started as a Personal Trainer and then spent time at Florida State on the Strength and Conditioning Team.
I was ready to leave my hometown, and started searching for personal training jobs in the Atlanta area. That is what brought me to Burn Boot Camp Woodstock, GA.
What called you to become an Entrepreneur and Fitness Coach?
While working at that location, I was able to be touched by so many people who genuinely wanted a better life for themselves through health and fitness. My boyfriend at the time who is now my husband, convinced me that we should open up our own! We have never looked back, and I can genuinely say, I love every day of “work.”
What is the best thing about your job?
Making long-term impact on women and their families, through the education of nutrition!
What is your best “working mom” tip?
Mom guilt is real. But coming from a home where I saw my mom working so hard and earning her success professionally- she gave me a great example of what to strive for. I always knew how much my mom loved me. She was never home mom, or on the field trips- and it didn’t matter. She made time on weekends, and dinners, and I always knew, ultimately, I came first. My inspiration for my career, and to provide for my family, came from her and nobody else!
What is your favorite “mom hack”?
My son, Eli, started climbing out of his crib. This is a moment all parents of toddlers dread. He was barely two, and the mattress was already all the way down, but like his mommy and daddy… He is an athlete. After looking up all of the different ways to keep him in the crib, looking at having to let him be free in the room and bolt down furniture… I thought about why he was able to climb out of the crib. It’s because he was able to use his toes and legs! I looked up toddler knapsacks. They are on Amazon! his arms are completely free and he is no longer able to climb out of the crib. I wasn’t ready to transition him into a “big kid bed” yet, and it was just the tool I needed! it is now a comfort to him like a blanket, and it is completely safe.
What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas?
I love Peachtree City, because of a beautiful golf cart paths that provide awesome running paths well!
What TV show are you loving right now? Book? Movie? Podcast?
Girl, wash you face. I listen to it on audiobook, and it’s been the best car rides I’ve had in a while! Every single chapter is relatable.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms?
You were never made to be mediocre. If you are in a place where you are lacking joy, confidence, or true satisfaction – you have the power to change it! Write down what you would like to see differently, why (which is the most important part), and create a game plan to get you there. You are in control and responsible for your own happiness!
