Q&A
Dr. Qiana, tell us about your background. What led you to your career?
I graduated from Mercer with Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2006. Then, I Graduated with a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a Specialty as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Forensic Nurse in 2014. I am currently the Forensic Program Director for Day League and the Owner of Lotus Wellness. I have practiced Nursing at CHOA, Emory, and Grady and I believe that my education and working at Atlanta’s top hospitals instilled a great foundation of caring for others.
What called you to open a Wellness Spa?
I decided on the name Lotus, because the Lotus flower is a beautiful flower that blossoms in murky waters. This is representative of so many of our lives. We experience situations, trauma, learning experiences and through it all we still blossom into beautiful beings. At Lotus, it is a priority to help individuals blossom into their healthiest versions no matter the situations, trauma or life lessons they experienced or are experiencing.
What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing about my job is that I get to put a smile on people’s faces.
What is your best working Mom tip?
My best working mom tip is to take a moment with each child individually and spend 5 to 10 minutes chatting it up or doing something of interest with them each day.
Do you have a favorite Mom Hack?
Mom hack: pouring half of juice in an another bottle and adding water to it..decreases their sugar intake and decreases the juice budget.
What do you love about Peachtree City and surrounding areas?
I love going shopping in Peachtree City and walking around the lake.

What TV show are you loving right now? Book? Movie? Podcast?
Hmmm..I do not usually turn on the tv, but when I do I am watching Law and Order, Blue Bloods or some love story.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms?
I would definitely encourage moms to come see us at Lotus Wellness, whether it is for some alone time, date day or girlfriends meet up.
