Meet Courtni Lockett, local Mom to Jaxon and Jett and the Founder of Simply Your Creation Events! In our Q&A below, Courtni shares how becoming an Entrepreneur has given her more time to be present with her kids all while still doing something she loves, planning fun and exciting events!
What is your background? Tell us about your career. I have my college degree in Healthcare Administration. Once I finished college, I worked at Glendalough Manor in Tyrone as a server. Eventually, I worked my way up the ladder and started working side by side with one of the owners as the Event Director. When Jaxon turned 3, I realized I wanted to be more present. At that moment, I took on my love for planning. I had worked at Glendalough for over 15 years and after years of planning my own events on the side, I decided to branch off. That is when Simply Your Creations was born. I plan, coordinate, and execute parties for adults/children, corporate, weddings, baby showers, private dinners and so much more!
What called you to become an Event Planner?
My love for celebrating people and their accomplishments. Every birthday should be a celebration, any achievement big or small should be celebrated!
What is the best thing about your job? The best thing about my job is seeing my client’s reactions once they see their party or wedding come together along with the joy and happiness of a successful event.
What is your best “working mom” tip? Do what works for you and makes you happy. Don’t sweat the little things.
What is your favorite “mom hack”? I love to cook! So my fave mom hack is prepping the kids breakfast and dinner at the beginning of the week to aim for a successful week in the eating department. Lol
What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas? I love the community as a whole.
What TV show are you loving right now? I love Survivor!
