Q&A

What is your background? Tell us about your career.

My name is Brooke Ferreira and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m the founder and owner of Nurture and Be Therapy Services. Before starting my own practice, I worked in various private practice settings and engaged directly with families in their homes. These experiences were profound, offering me a first hand look into different worlds and perspectives. Each person I had the privilege to work with enriched my understanding in ways that continue to shape and deepen my professional journey. In October 2022 (three days before I became a mom!) I opened Nurture and Be Therapy Services in Peachtree City, Ga. We now have two office locations (Peachtree City, Ga and Buford, Ga) as well as serving clients virtually in Georgia, Pennsylvania and Florida. As a practice, our goal is to serve women and their families well. We support individuals, couples and families in all stages of life wanting to heal from and embrace the beautiful, messy, sometimes painful experiences that define us. When we are experiencing depression or anxiety oftentimes, low self-worth, trauma or shame are underneath the surface. This impacts how we show up in relationships with others and keeps us from being our most authentic and joyful selves. We take a holistic approach and are curious about how the body, mind and soul are interacting. I like to describe our practice as casual, authentic and a little crunchy. We are shifting the way people see therapists.

What called you to become a Therapist?

Growing up, I was always curious and questioned the ways things worked. I often would ask why something was done the way it was or why something was said. I have often been told I have an old soul. I think my desire to learn more and the wonder I have has led me to the work that I do. I also think our childhoods impact us and at times as a child I needed more emotional support and connection. This desire led me to learn more about relationships and the roles we play. The relationships built with our clients are sacred. They allow us to enter into the most vulnerable piece of their world. I hold this trust with such honor and compassion. I have grown alongside my clients.

What is the best thing about your job?

Seeing the incredible transformation my clients undergo, especially during significant life shifts like pregnancy and motherhood, brings me immense joy. At Nurture and Be Therapy Services, we’re all about a personalized, compassionate, and creative therapeutic journey—a way to break barriers and achieve the growth and relief you’re seeking.

What is your best “working mom” tip?

Say no more often. Prioritize what truly matters, and give yourself permission to forget the rest. I often use the metaphor of glass and rubber balls. The glass balls (connection, family, health) are the things we always hold on to and the rubber balls are the things that we can drop and pick up at a later time(cleaning the house, pinterest worthy snacks, a holiday party). I ask myself often, “What rubber balls do I need to let go of to make space for glass balls?”

What is your favorite “mom hack”?

Family support to help with childcare, Hello Fresh meals, and playdates where the kids entertain each other and the moms get a second to breathe!

What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas?

The nature in Peachtree City has been so grounding. I love that I can pop over to Drake park to be connected to water and trees or hike Line creek all within a five minute drive. The Night Market is also a favorite of mine!

What TV show are you loving right now? Book? Movie? Podcast?

Right now, I’m hooked on Suits. As for books, I’ve been reading Colleen Hoover (I am a sucker for romance). As far as Podcasts, I will listen to 3 or 4 a day! It is my preferred way to learn. I have been consuming a ton of knowledge on team leadership and how to be smarter with money!

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms?

Momma, you’re doing an incredible job! And if you’re feeling uncertain despite your efforts, remember to trust yourself. You were made for this. I did, and it’s transformed not just my career but also who I am as a person.
