What is your background? Tell us about your career.

I grew up in Kennesaw and attended Georgia Tech for undergraduate studies, majoring in Biology. Afterward, I attended the Medical College of Georgia for medical school, which is where my dad also went. I completed my dermatology residency at Emory University and then went on to complete two fellowships at Northwestern University in Chicago—one in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology (Mohs Surgery) and another in Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery. I was fortunate to train under the current President of the American Academy of Dermatology for two years in Mohs surgery, advanced reconstructive plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and numerous minimally invasive aesthetic procedures such as Botox, filler, and over 50 laser devices.

In 2021, I acquired West Georgia Dermatology in Carrollton from Dr. David Schoenfeld, who was a friend and mentor. West Georgia Dermatology has provided dermatologic care to West Georgia and East Alabama for over 25 years. Last July, we opened our second location, Newnan Dermatology, in Ashley Park. Next month, we will open our third location, Peachtree City Dermatology, where we’ve developed a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art medical facility and plan to build a surgery center in 2026. Our office is conveniently located in Starrs Mill’s Wilshire Pavilion, at the corner of Highway 74 and Rockaway, across from Chick-fil-A and Publix. We also launched Carroll Cosmetic Club, our advanced medical aesthetics practice, available at all three locations, offering the latest cosmetic dermatologic procedures.

What called you to become an Dermatologist?

My dad was a physician, so I grew up knowing I wanted to pursue medicine. I love dermatology because I can care for the entire family—from skin cancer to acne, eczema, and beyond. A person’s skin health significantly impacts their overall well-being, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help patients look and feel their best.

Congrats on opening Peachtree City Dermatology! Please share the services that you offer?

We offer comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. On the medical side, we treat all skin conditions, including skin cancer screenings, rashes, acne, eczema, and more. I am trained and board-certified in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a specialized skin cancer treatment with the highest cure rate. On the cosmetic side, we offer advanced procedures such as neurotoxins, fillers, Sculptra, Radiesse, chemical peels, hydrofacials, and a wide variety of laser services including laser hair removal, CO2 laser resurfacing, and radiofrequency microneedling.

What is the best thing about your job?

The best part of my job is my wonderful patients! I absolutely love getting to know them and having the privilege to address their skincare needs. It’s rewarding to serve my local community. Most of my time is spent treating skin cancer patients—our patients arrive with skin cancer and leave cancer-free the same day! Mohs surgery offers a 99% cure rate, and it’s deeply rewarding to provide comprehensive, safe care in a comfortable outpatient setting. Finally, as a mom, I’m grateful every day for the flexibility my dermatology career provides, allowing me to enjoy my favorite job—being a mom.

What is your best “skin care” tip?

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! Protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays helps prevent skin cancer and maintains youthful-looking skin, minimizing wrinkles and sunspots. Wear at least SPF 30 daily and reapply every two hours when outside. With summer approaching, I remind fellow moms that diligently applying and reapplying sunscreen for our children gives them the lifelong gift of healthy skin. For my cosmetic patients, I recommend pairing sunscreen with a good cleanser, moisturizer, retinol, and vitamin C serum as part of a daily skincare regimen.

We would love to meet the Team at PeachtreeCity and Newnan Dermatology!

We are fortunate to have such an exceptional team at Peachtree City Dermatology, Newnan Dermatology, and Carroll Cosmetic Club. Dr. Paul Haun is our other primary dermatologist in Newnan and Peachtree City. Dr. Haun, a Newnan High School alumnus, grew up locally and was most recently on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in dermatology, dermatopathology, and cutaneous lymphoma. Additionally, we have three outstanding Physician Assistants—Katie O’Meara, Tiffany Romanello, and Kate Baskin—working in our Newnan and Peachtree City offices. For Carrollton-area care, Dr. Katie Wadlington is our expert dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon. She is also my neighbor in Arbor Springs and actively participates in the Newnan community through the Newnan Junior League. Recently, Maria Croft joined our team as Cosmetic Sales and Operations Manager, leading our cosmetic practice in Peachtree City.

What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas?

Since moving here in 2021, we’ve been incredibly grateful to find such a wonderful community for raising our family. Like many moms, my life revolves around my children’s activities and extracurriculars. We’re thankful for the welcoming community at Heritage School, where our girls attend. Outside of school, our daughters participate in soccer at SSA and Lazers, basketball with Upward at The Bridge in Peachtree City, and attend Kumon. We enjoy local events like Alive After Five in Senoia and the numerous playgrounds in Peachtree City and Newnan. Having become foodies during my fellowship in Chicago, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by the fantastic dining options in PeachtreeCity, downtown Newnan, Senoia, Serenbe, and Trilith.

What TV show are you loving right now? Book? Movie? Podcast?

I recently finished “The Anxious Generation” and found it compelling. As a mom of three young girls, I often think about helping my daughters stay happy and healthy in a digital-first world, and this book offered valuable perspectives on navigating modern parenting challenges. I also just caught up on “Yellowstone,” and admittedly, at times, I aspire to have Beth’s self-confidence—though perhaps with less profanity 😊.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms?

I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone, especially fellow moms, who’ve warmly welcomed us into the community over the past four years. Most of the dermatology practices in the area have recently affiliated with corporate-owned/private equity chains, and we feel it is really important for our neighbors to have access to a locally owned and operated dermatology practice that always puts patients first.

We hope to see our neighbors soon! Our Peachtree City grand opening and ribbon cutting is Thursday, May 1st, from 4:00–7:00 PM. Join us for music, food, and over $10K in cosmetic giveaways (www.peachtreecityderm.com/RSVP). We’re also proud sponsors of the Fayette Humane Society Fore the Paws Golf Tournament (May 2nd) and the Harts of Teal 5K Color Run (June 7th), an event close to my heart after losing a close friend and bridesmaid to ovarian cancer in 2023. We hope to see you there!
