Meet Dr. Paige Patterson, local Mom and Dentist at Palmetto Family Dentistry’s newest location in the Town of Trilith which recently opened. In our Q&A below, Dr. Patterson shares why she chose to become a Dentist and how at Palmetto Family Dentistry they treat their patients like family!
What is your background? Tell us about how you got started in your career.
I am originally from the Atlanta area, where I attended Lakeside High School and Spelman College. After completing my DMD at Temple, I moved to North Carolina and worked in public health/community dentistry for my first 2.5 years of practice. I spent the next 3 years in private practice, also in North Carolina.
What called you to become a Dentist?
I always have a hard time answering this question because the true answer is, I’m not sure. My mom tells me I first told her when I was 6 or 7 years old. (I must have had a really fun dentist!)
Over time, I became aware of my natural tendency toward nurturing, my love for art and working with my hands, and my knack for critical thinking. I heard if you put those things together, you’ve probably built a skilled and happy dentist. That’s what kept me committed.
What is the best thing about your job?
I love that doing things I’m naturally good at and really find fun can make someone feel better not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Our leader, Dr. Brunson once asked me my favorite procedures and then described me as a sculptor and I felt so seen! On a separate occasion, he described me as a caretaker. Working in a place where people can benefit from who I am and working with people that see who I am is amazing.
What services do you offer at Palmetto Family Dental?
At Palmetto family dental, we provide complete oral care to patients of all ages. We treat our patients and fellow team members as family while we work toward optimal oral health. Our services include all aspects of dentistry, including preventive services and routine cleanings, as well as disease management through treatments for gum disease, extractions, root canals, fillings, and crowns. We also provide cosmetic services like veneers and dental prosthetics like implants, bridges, and dentures.
What do you love about Peachtree City, Town of Trilith, and surrounding areas?
I love being back in Georgia and closer to home. The Town of Trilith is such a special place of expansive opportunity for anybody who creates.. The possibilities are endless and It’s so exciting to be a part of that.
What is your favorite restaurant or place to shop?
It’s hard to pick just one but I did recently reach Chick fil A One Red status in December for the third time. If the Kale crunch stays around longer than the superfood side did, I’m going for Silver next year!
I wouldn’t be telling the truth if I said I shop anywhere more than Amazon. Quality and convenience over everything, I guess.
What TV show are you loving right now? Book? Movie? Podcast?
I haven’t had a good show to binge watch in a while. I’m pretty flexible when it comes to tv shows but I really get into sci-fi and post apocalyptic stories.
Right now, I spend most of my TV time watching Peppa Pig and Do Re Mi.
