Q&A

What called you become the new Owner of The Salt MedSpa? Yoga and Meditation has had a profound effect on me, making me a calmer person, a more thoughtful and gentle Mother and Wife, and an overall better person. I started teaching gentle yoga in the Salt Room in 2021. The healing and seratonin enhancing benefits of the salt, even just being in the building, has always felt very calming and energetically soothing to me. I believe everyone needs to take time for self-care. When we experience these benefits we are happier, more relaxed, and productive people. The business was built on love 13 years ago and you can feel it when you walk in the door. When the opportunity to take over the SaltMed Spa became available, I wanted to share my passion for wellness with our community.

Please share the services Salt MedSpa offers and the amazing Team behind them?  The Salt MedSpa offers 2 salt rooms for natural healing of sinuses, lungs, and skin as well as support for snoring, ADHD, and mood elevation. In addition, we have a Sunlighten Infrared Chromotherapy (light therapy) sauna for detoxing, anti-aging, internal health, pain, weight-loss support, anti-inflammatory, and sports recovery.

Join us in the salt room for gentle, therapeutic yoga. Our small class sizes (6-8 people max)

Monday-Friday at 10am with Aimy or Heidi

Saturday at 9am with Charmaine

Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings with Lauren, Heidi or Angie.

You can also book private yoga or pilates classes for yourself or a small group of friends that can be custom tailored to your needs.

We offer swedish or deep massages by Ely, Anna, and Ricardo including oncology, lymphatic drainage, hot stone, and pre-natal massage.

Audrey offers customized facial services including dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, and LED light therapy, as well as waxing.

I offer Reflexology, a complementary therapy that reduces stress, eases pain, and promotes natural healing by gently stimulating reflex points on the feet and hands.

Once a month Cynthia Terrell provides restorative sound immersions, in the salt room, to calm the nervous system and restore balance with the healing vibrations of gongs, crystal bowls and chimes. She has just begun offering one on one sound healing.

I love that you have a Salt “play” room for kids! Can you tell us more about this space? Yes, the Activity room offers a fun sea mural that kids love. The room is brighter than our adult relax room with zero gravity chairs. The play room is just that, we have dump trucks that kids can load up with Mediterranean rock salt that covers the floor. The room is nice and cool for hot summer afternoons and offers a unique experience that kids love.

While the kids play, our halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical grade salt into tiny particles that are released into the air of the room. When inhaled, salt can break up mucus, reduce inflammation, and clear airways – a natural solution for children and adults to help ease allergies, colds, asthma, bronchitis, as well as sinus and ear infections. In addition, by absorbing bacteria and toxins, salt rooms can help psoriasis, eczema, acne, and other skin conditions.

Bringing your kids in for a salt session lets you enjoy those same relaxing, breath supporting benefits at a lower cost. One accompanying adult is free – $25 for the first child and $10 per sibling. Summer storybook yoga offered at no additional cost.

Starting June 1st – Mondays at 3pm – yoga in salt room.

Storybook Yoga for ages 2 to 5 begins with a song to get our sillies and wiggles out.

A different story is told each week and accompanied with fun kid friendly poses.

Children bring home a coloring sheet.

As Moms, we often put ourselves last, taking care of everyone else first. How can Salt MedSpa’s Membership Programs help Moms to put themselves back on the priority list? You are right! We often do put ourselves last, but the truth is when we take quiet time for self-care, we are more efficient, productive and happier people. My husband used to always say “when Momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy”. And that is accurate. Stressed out  and overloaded Moms are no fun! Subscribing to a monthly routine decreases decision-fatigue and makes you a whole lot more likely to take those moments for yourself. You deserve it!

Salt MedSpa has a beautiful selection of uniquely sculpted Salt Lamps that would make wonderful and unique gifts! What are the benefits? How much are they and how can they be purchased? Our Salt Lamps not only offer ambience and can be used as night lights but they also purify the air to help you breath better. When the small bulb gently heats the salt negative ions are released into the air. When met with allergens, mold, fungus, bacteria, or oder, which are positive ions, they are neutralized and weighed down to the floor.

We offer small USB color changing lamps for $10, small to mid-size lamps from $40-$60 and large lamps starting at $80. We have a large selection of shapes and cute animals, from birds to cats and elephants. Some are on display at the Salt MedSpa, and we have an iPad with rotating pictures so you can see our whole inventory. We even offer repurposed halo salt for $3-$5 for relaxing foot soaks, baths, or aromatherapy.

What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas? My husband and I chose Peachtree City 8 years ago for many reasons–most importantly we felt that the top-rated schools were important for our son and daughter. We saw families having so much fun on the golf carts! We loved the natural beauty of the trees, hills, and paths, plus the seasons (we lived in Merritt Island, FL for 13 years). The size of the community felt right to build our village of friends.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms? I invite you to stop in for a tour if you are passing by. People tell us all the time that they have driven by for years and always wondered what was inside. You can come alone, with your kids, friends or partner. Our humble home for healing is a unique and hidden gem on the edge of Peachtree City and Fayetteville. You will be surprised to see how lovely it is inside!

Thanks, Heidi
