Q & A

What is your background? Tell us about your career
.
My background is in events, marketing, management and customer service. I began in residential property management, eventually transitioned into new home sales. When the housing marketing crashed, I moved into management and marketing for one of the largest OBGYN private practices in Georgia for close to 10 years. Since 2017 I have worked in commercial real estate as the Marketing Manager for The Avenue Peachtree City.

What called you to become a Marketing Manager?
God has led me here. He gave me the tools to work great with people and planning events.

What is the best thing about your job? I try to take a moment during my events to pause and take in the joy it brings to all the attendees. I have also mentored several high school and college women which is always a very rewarding experience.

What is your best “working mom” tip? The old “put your oxygen mask on yourself first” metaphor and do not feel guilty about it. As moms, we are always stretched thin and take it personally when we believe we are not being everything to everyone. We are our own worst critics. Remember to take alone moments for yourself whenever you can and be still with God. That can be driving in the car to work or even in the shower.

What is your favorite “mom hack”?  Let go and delegate! We tend to feel we have to take everything on which can lead to resentment. Share your responsibilities whenever you can. I bought my daughter her first car before she turned 16 for selfish reasons. The day she could drive, I began to use her to help me with errands and transporting her younger brother. It has been a huge help!

What do you love about Peachtree City and the surrounding areas? I love that every time I go out, I see someone I know and I adore the 4th of July in Peachtree City. We start at the parade, head to the pool, then enjoy the Food Truck Frenzy at The Avenue Peachtree City before the fireworks.

What TV show are you loving right now? I hate to say it but my guilty pleasure is reality TV. It reminds me how normal my life is. I also love Hallmark Movies. Book: I have “Jesus Calling” on my desk and I purposely read the daily devotional each morning before beginning my workday. It centers me and reminds me that if I let God lead, I do not have to take the day on alone. Podcast? The Charlie Kirk, Dan Bongino and Ben Shapiro Shows

Is there anything else you would like to share with our Moms? My life changed when I decided that nothing good comes from worrying. Things normally end up happening as they should and the worry did nothing hurt by stressing you out. Rely on your faith in God and worry will subside. One of my favorite verses in the bible is  Matthew 6:25-34. “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
