Q&A

What inspired the transition to Edge Chiropractic & Wellness?

It really came down to growth, autonomy, and timing. The franchise provided a great foundation, but I reached a point in my career where I knew it was just time for me to do something completely on my own. Franchises thrive on standardization, but I wanted the freedom to truly customize the patient experience and expand our wellness offerings beyond a corporate blueprint. Launching EDGE was my way of bringing that independent vision to life.

What does the name “EDGE” represent, and what can patients expect from this new chapter of the practice?

Every patient journey follows The EDGE Equation (E.D.G.E.), our unique methodology for lasting transformation:

EVALUATE

We assess your needs with advanced diagnostics and expert analysis.

DELIVER

We apply precise chiropractic care to restore movement and function.

GUIDE

We provide education and coaching to help you take control of your health.

EMPOWER

We give you the tools to maintain long-term wellness and peak performance.

Has anything changed beyond the name, or can patients still expect the same great care they’ve come to know and trust?

We’ve been able to expand services, create new programs, and continue evolving to meet the needs of the families we serve.

At the end of the day, the mission remains the same: help people move better, feel better, and live healthier lives.

Meet the New Doctor – Dr. Emily Blum

Tell us a little about yourself! What led you to become a chiropractor?

I am Dr. Emily Blum! Growing up as a competitive dancer, I developed a deep appreciation for movement, recovery, and the biomechanics of the human body from an early age. My background in dance is also what first brought me to chiropractic care at the age of 16 for scoliosis management and injury prevention.

Through my own experiences as both a dancer and a chiropractic patient, I discovered the profound impact chiropractic care could have on helping people function at their best and improve their overall quality of life. Ultimately, it was this realization that inspired me to pursue the profession myself.

My journey to chiropractic started long before chiropractic school. It started in a dance studio and at home, watching my dad refuse to let pain define his life. When I was young, I was diagnosed with scoliosis. At the time, it was simply something I was told I had. There was no treatment plan, no real follow-up, and no conversation about what it meant for my future. It became a label I carried without fully understanding it. As I progressed in dance and began training at a higher level, I started to realize how much that curve in my spine was affecting the way I moved and performed.

Then I found chiropractic.

For the first time, someone looked beyond a diagnosis and helped me understand what my body was truly capable of. Instead of focusing on limitations, they showed me how strong, resilient, and capable I could be. Through chiropractic care, I moved better, performed better, and gained confidence in myself and my body.

At the same time, I watched my dad navigate multiple motor vehicle accidents that resulted in injuries throughout my childhood. Thanks to the incredible chiropractors who cared for him, he was not defined by pain. He was active, engaged, and fully present in our family’s life. Those chiropractors did not just help my dad feel better. They helped him continue being my dad. Watching the impact chiropractic had on both of our lives shaped not only my career, but the way I care for people today. I became a chiropractor because I believe people deserve more than symptom relief. They deserve the opportunity to live fully, move confidently, and show up for the people and experiences that matter most.

Do you have any special areas of interest or certifications you’d like patients to know about?

(Prenatal care, pediatrics, family wellness, sports injuries, etc.)

During my chiropractic education, I discovered a special passion for working with perinatal women and pediatrics. I am dedicated to supporting mothers, babies, and families through thoughtful, individualized chiropractic care, and I truly believe these populations deserve attentive support throughout every stage of life. To further my training in this area, I also completed my Webster Certification.

My greatest passion in chiropractic is caring for women and families through every stage of life. From preconception and fertility, to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, motherhood, and caring for babies and children as they grow. I am a Webster Certified practitioner, meaning I have completed advanced training in pregnancy-specific chiropractic care. The Webster Technique focuses on optimizing pelvic balance, biomechanics, and nervous system function throughout pregnancy to help create the best possible environment for both mom and baby to thrive. This is one of my favorite areas of practice because I have seen firsthand the profound difference it can make. Pregnancy is one of the most transformative seasons in a woman’s life, yet too many women are told that discomfort, exhaustion, and physical challenges are simply things they have to tolerate. I do not believe that should be the standard. Women deserve to be heard, supported, and cared for throughout every stage of their journey.

There is nothing more rewarding than helping a woman feel stronger, more comfortable, and more confident in her body throughout pregnancy while helping create the best possible environment for her growing baby. Supporting mothers through pregnancy, caring for them during postpartum recovery, and eventually having the opportunity to care for their children as they grow is one of the greatest privileges of my career.

Mothers give so much of themselves to everyone around them. They deserve healthcare providers who pour back into them.

What can a first-time patient expect during an appointment with you?

A first time patient can expect a thorough consultation, orthopedic and neuro exams when necessary as well as full spine x rays when necessary as well. They can also expect a detailed explanation of what’s going on with their body as well as a detailed plan of action to get them functioning at the highest level.

No two patients are the same, so no two plans of care should be either. Every person who walks into my office has a unique story, unique goals, and unique challenges. That is why every examination I perform is comprehensive, personalized, and focused on the individual sitting in front of me.

We will talk about what is going on, but we will also talk about where you want to go. Whether your goal is a healthier pregnancy, keeping up with your kids, getting back to exercise, improving your sleep, or simply feeling like yourself again, those goals matter. My goal is for every patient to leave with their questions answered, a clear understanding of what is happening in their body, and a personalized plan designed to help them reach their goals.

Most importantly, I want patients to know they are not doing it alone. Once you’re my patient, you have someone in your corner. I am part of your team, and I am fully invested in helping you achieve your goals.

What advice would you give busy moms who often put everyone else’s needs before their own health?

My advice to busy moms is this: stop thinking of your health as selfish. Taking care of yourself isn’t taking away from your family. It’s allowing you to show up as the best version of yourself for them. You can’t pour from an empty cup. If you’re constantly running on fumes, skipping meals, neglecting sleep, avoiding exercise, or ignoring aches and pains, eventually your body will let you know. Start small. Go for a walk, drink more water, prioritize protein, get adjusted, and make time for activities that fill your cup back up. Your family needs you healthy, energized, and present, not exhausted and running on empty. Taking care of yourself is one of the best ways to take care of the people you love.

Prioritizing your health is not selfish. In fact, it is one of the most selfless things you can do for yourself, your family, and your future. So many moms spend their lives caring for everyone around them, often putting their own health last. But the truth is, you cannot continue pouring into others if you are running on empty yourself.

Do you have the energy, strength, and resilience to do the things you want to do? Are you able to fully participate in your life? The healthiest, happiest version of you benefits everyone around you. Taking care of your health does not take away from your family; it allows you to continue showing up for them in the way you want to.

You do not have to do it all alone. Build a team that supports your health, advocates for you, and reminds you that your well-being matters too.

What message would you like to share with the Peachtree City Moms community as EdgeChiropractic & Wellness embarks on this exciting new chapter?

My message is simple: your health matters too. You can’t pour from an empty cup. When you prioritize your own health and well-being, you’re better able to show up for your children, your spouse, your career, and the people who depend on you.

At Edge Chiropractic & Wellness, our goal is to help you move better, feel better, and live life with more energy and less limitation, whether that means keeping up with your kids, exercising without pain, managing the physical demands of motherhood, or simply feeling like yourself again.

We’re excited about the future and honored to continue serving the Peachtree City community as a locally owned practice. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family’s health journey. We can’t wait to continue growing alongside this incredible community.

Emily: “It is such a privilege to be joining Edge Chiropractic & Wellness and serving the Peachtree City community. The values this practice was built on deeply align with my own. What sets Edge apart is that we genuinely care about people. Not just their symptoms, but their goals, their families, and the life they want to live. We take the time to build relationships, understand what matters most to our patients, and walk alongside them throughout their health journey.

When people feel known, valued, and supported, an appointment becomes more than just a visit to the chiropractor. It becomes a place where they feel encouraged, connected, and cared for. I am incredibly grateful to be part of a practice that values people so deeply, and I cannot wait to support the families of this amazing community!”
